How do you handle difficult things in your life?  Do you feel defeated when you run into them?  Do you often quit at the sight of an obstacle?  Obstacle

Learning how to handle obstacles or things that get in your way is a powerful life tool to have if you want to live a fulfilling life.

If you have been defeated by things that brought you down to your knees or stopped you in your tracks, I know just how that feels, because I have had those experiences, too many in fact.

Getting defeated is normal.  But getting defeated doesn’t have to happen.

Letting pain and difficulty stop you is normal.  But letting that happen is not needed.

This post is all about how to overcome obstacles so that you can win in life.

  • lack of prosperity in every way

We have all quit at the sight of obstacles.  I have certainly done that.  In fact, quitting at the sight of difficulty was my normal.  

The reason why fewer numbers of people reach their heights of success than more is that quitting at the sight of obstacles is normal for most.

In many cases, the difference between success and failure is quitting or keeping going.

Choosing to quit at the sight of obstacles is choosing to fail.

How your life looks when you overcome obstacles

  • Life of thrill at being in the ring of life
  • You reach your potential
  • You feel confident
  • You have high self-esteem
  • You know self-trust
  • You keep learning and growing
  • You love yourself
  • You love others to your best ability
  • You are a good and positive influence on those who you love
  • You are attractive and attract good things to your life

When you look at people who make life look so easy, those people have a habit of overcoming obstacles.  They habitually tackle difficulties and because of that, they don’t think twice about obstacles that pop up for them.  They simply figure out what to do and take actions to do them.

It’s not that they do not get knocked down.  They simply get back up and get to work.

They have the pleasure of success because they have been moving forward on things no matter the difficulties that have met them.

  • Shift your mindset about obstacles
  • Study and learn from difficulties
  • Analyze your obstacles and find the gem in them
  • Decide to always look for advantages from obstacles and problems
  • There is always a gem in obstacles

The Obstacle is the Way, by Ryan Holiday, is a very helpful book, full of stories of amazing people who have had deeply challenging problems in front of them yet were not defeated by them.  Not only were they not defeated by them, they flourished because of them.

Joseph Campbell has said, that we must all reach for our extraordinary because when we do, we shine and show others just how to do the same.

Those people that Ryan Holiday talks about in his book lived lives that show each of us the way.  

Each one of us can use our obstacles as a way to reach our true potential.  By overcoming them by using them to fuel our lives, we make a positive difference not only in our own lives but also in the lives of others.
