Everything that we do for the most part is our attempt to be happy.  But sometimes we run at it so hard that we end up pushing away the very thing that could truly make us feel that way.  Knowing how to be happy is a priceless skill to have and a worthy thing to pursue in the right way.

How hard we work at finding love, making money, and even making a positive difference in the world can be an effort to be happy for ourselves.

No matter how much someone loves us, no matter how much money we have, and no matter how effective we are, we can still feel hollow and unhappy.

If we want to truly be happy, we must first know what it means for ourselves and learn how to find that for ourselves.

This post is about how to be happy so that you can be impactful in a positive way in your world.

How to Be Happy

 What happens when you don’t know how to be happy

  • You are unhappy
  • you bring unhappiness to others
  • Unable to be your best
  • feel unfulfilled
  • less than healthy
  • less than effective

When you are unhappy, in addition to being unhappy, you cannot help but create unhappiness in the lives of everyone around you.  This affects the quality of your relationships.

In addition, unhappiness can cause you to be ineffective in almost all areas of your life.

What will happen when you know how to be happy

  • you are happy
  • you bring happiness to those you care about
  • You are attractive to people and positive things
  • you can be your best
  • you can feel fulfilled
  • you make a positive dent in the world

When you are a happy person, you look lucky.  Your life just looks and feels easier than those who are not happy.  You are emotionally independent and you face life with genuine vulnerability and strength.  

Life feels calm and peaceful and you can take on the world with true strength and desire for service to others.

How to become happy

  • build and maintain a good emotional foundation by practicing excellent self-care
  • practice self-love
    • self-compassion
    • unconditional self-acceptance
    • self-forgiveness
    • meditation practice to know your true self
  • Find your hero journey
    • What ails you?  What do you need to heal?
    • Heal, whatever it takes
    • journal what you have learned
    • Share your new knowledge with the world
  • Be mindful of your daily and moment-by-moment practice of who you are
  • Do not veer away from being who you want to be to what others want you to be
  • Practice being YOU

To be optimally happy, and to be your best for the world, you can start by creating a solid inner foundation by taking excellent care of yourself.  Along with that a good practice of self-love is essential.  

With your emotional foundation in place, you must be sure to mindfully be on your own hero’s journey, your life’s path.  Without your life purpose journey, your happiness is not complete.  This is the greatest and most meaningful happiness that anyone can ever have.
