How to implement good self-care into your life
- Make it a routine, at the same time in the same order
- Keep healthy things around your environment
- Be around healthy minded positive people as much as you can
- be mindful of the fact that it is not selfish but it is self-full
- Create a support group for yourself that affirms the importance and benefit of good self-care
First and foremost, realize that the time and effort that you put into self-care is not selfish. The reason for this is that you will be a better person to all whom you care about when you are in a habit of good self-care.
Do you remember a time when you were less than patient, grouchy, or unkind to someone? You may have been tired or were chemically imbalanced(drinking the night before), have low blood sugar from not having eaten food, or be sluggish from being overworked without rest or time to yourself.
It is not to say that when you care well for yourself you will always be perfect. You will, however, be the best that you can be, when you are taking good care of yourself.
The best and the easiest way to do good at self-care is to make it into a daily habit like brushing your teeth. For example:
- Do a few hours of work
- Exercise
- Shower and dress
- Eat healthy meal
- work at doing something important to you
- outdoors activity
- dinner
- fun activity
- bathroom routine
- go to bed
When you do good self-care as a daily routine, taking good care of yourself becomes your habit. When taking good care of yourself becomes your habit, you are golden.
